Sunday Mind Dump - Jan 8, 2012

Hands down, one of the most energized services we’ve had in a long time.

Started a new series on the book of Esther.  Very insightful.  Great book.  Great truths to unpack.

Looks like we will have to bring out more chairs next week.  The room was packed shoulder-to-shoulder.  I'm already worried about runnng out of room.

It was an awkward moment at church this morning when our organist broke into 'Are You Ready For Some Football' during the offering.  :-)

On a more serious note, the offertory was exceptional.  Wade Hall sang Sweet Beulah Land, an old gospel song about heaven.  The musical style was outside of our typical presentation, but boy, was it ever a big hit!  From my vantage point, a lot of people, and I mean a lot, were visibly moved.

Loving the new stage design.

The band nailed it with the worship set.

It was just an incredible Sunday.

A number of visiting families showed up too.  In fact, about five couples signed up for our “Meet & Greet” that’s taking place in two weeks.

The letter I read today for the offering talk was pretty neat.  It came from a man whose house burned a couple of weeks ago.  He thanked the people of PCC who responded to his need… and now he has been in church with his family for the last two weeks.

Yes, people sometimes respond to Christ when their felt needs are ministered to by His people.  My offering talk was from James 2:14-17.

With all due respect to Ed Young Jr, this is a cheesy idea and so is this.   It lacks class too.

I’m not a stuffed-shirt with a stiff collar, but geesh.   There are some things that I am not willing to do.  Ever.

Here are few Facebook comments about today’s service:

If you missed church this morning at Pace Community Church you missed a blessing. God was there in every part of the service. What a blessing it was to be there.

Church was fantastic today!! Worship was uplifting and the message... Very interesting, I love the history that goes along with the Old Testament stories... We are in Esther, learning about God's invisible Guidance!! I know this to be true... God makes a way for what he wants for you , even if you can't see what He is doin, He is always doin something!!! I will TRUST in YOU, and I will not be afraid!!!

Church was so good today, good singing and preaching, pastor taught on Esther, we don't see our future, but God is working it out for us.

If you are looking for a church home in the Pace/Milton area, come check us out sometime.

Gotta go.  Headed to a funeral visitation.
