1. Today’s message was entitled “Misplaced Confidence” and based on Philippians 3:1-11
We looked at the wrong things people put their confidence in – such as legalism, getting caught up in false doctrine, trusting in your personal accomplishments and blindly following men. We also learned that CHRIST ALONE should be the focus of our confidence
“We rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh” (v.3)
Teachers of legalism would like for you to believe that something is missing in your Christian walk, and that you would become more spiritual if you would only follow their rules or theology. Rather than improving your spiritual walk, man-made rules/theology actually dilutes the gospel resulting in making Christ of "no effect.” Very dangerous indeed. We understand that we are "complete" in Christ - period.
2. Thirteen people committed to Christ today!
3. We had twenty-two first-time guests!

4. One man came to me after service and said this - "I attended church here last Sunday and today. This is the second time I have been to church in the last twenty years. I used to belong to a religious system that emphasized rules/legalism. Now I understand what God wants. I committed to Christ today and your church has a new member."
5. Another man came to church, attending the early service. He was so amazed at the music, God's presence, and the plain, practical Word that he went home and got his family and brought them back for the second service! You should have seen his excitement.
6. What an awesome day!!!!!!!!!
